As of yesterday morning, Ruth had her first measurable white cell count! Huge answer to prayer.
Ruth was skeptical to start, but it’s the real deal. Her liver is better too. It remains to be seen if she’ll need long term dialysis but her kidney is hanging in there without dialysis the last 5 days…barely. Overall though, we now have some light at the end of the tunnel.
Given Ruth’s level of weakness, she’ll likely not return home when she discharges. I know it still may be a while before she goes, we’re trying to plan ahead. Our house has too many stairs to get up to our house.
So if you, or anyone you know has a room or place close to OHSU (specifically South Waterfront),that she can use for a couple of weeks until she’d gets stronger, lemme know.
