Popsicle

I finally have good news for you all. Ruth came off the ventilator yesterday evening and is breathing on her own. She is no longer needing medications to sustain her blood pressure. They are looking to switch her off of 24-7 continuous dialysis.

Her first hoarse words: “popsicle.”

Sadly she failed her swallow studies so we couldn’t give her one :(

She’s still really weak, a little bit cognitively slowed, but who wouldn’t be after what she’s been through.

She’s still on anti-this and that medication and still dealing with some GI bleeding, for which she’s been getting lots of blood products every day - small fry stuff comparatively.

She’s got a long recovery from this.

Thanks to all those who’ve been praying for her and sending us their thoughts and concerns.

I’ll keep you all posted on her progress.
